Hey all!
My Suggestion:
So what I'm suggesting is a way to quickly back up our dashboard/reading list to an HTML or other appropriate file type in case Mangable crashes and/or all the data is destroyed. The back up should be in an easily readable format so that the file doesn't have to be imported to be useful, in fact the export could be in .txt for all I care. Of course, relevant data should be included such as: Manga title, last read chapter/page, and dashboard category (paused, completed, reading, dropped, or want to read).
Why?
The reason I want this feature is because I used to use Somemanga.com (which also records the last page/chapter read, one of the reasons Mangable is so appealing to me) for all my manga reading and for unknown reasons the site just ceased to exist, and in its demise it took with it my entire reading list. I wasn't able to back up my reading list because I frankly didn't expect the site to just go out the way it did (read: I was lazy). Following 4 months of waiting and hoping for somemanga.com to go back up, I decided to give up and just sift through mangafox's manga list to see which ones I could recognize. I've since been backing up my reading list with a .txt file and through MyAnimeList.com.
TL;DR - Used somemanga.com, it died and took my whole reading list with it to the grave. I was too lazy and didn't back up my reading list, spent hours rebuilding it after 4 months of waiting. Now using a .txt file and myanimelist to back up my reading list.
I'm really hoping this suggestion will be considered as I think it would really benefit those who, like me, use this site as their primary manga reader. |
