 I may be a little older then some people on this site (i haven't really checked everyone's age so i wouldn't know for sure), but it seems as though more and more people are forgetting old school manga and anime ( or it's being played to death by new seasons ).

i was shocked to my wit's end the other day-- a friend of mine had NO IDEA what sailor moon was and he only knew dragon ball because of DB kai and DG gt, i was hoping that he was just an ignorant ass but as i asked around about it, it seemed as though NO ONE knew any of the oldies. i cried.

i realize that there are many great anime/manga out there and one might forget about the forefathers, but seriously.

does anybody remember anything from the early 2000s to late 1900s?
trigun?
GTO?
Yu-Yu-hakusho?
Rouni Kenshin?
Dragon Ball?
Sailor Moon?
Ranma?
Inuyasha?
et cetera et cetera? D:

 yes! i love Dragon Ball, GTO, trigun and sailor moon!! and a few others from the 90's, but you serious, someone didnt know about Sailor Moon!!!!! or DB!!!

 ....... i seriously can't believe that, i mean even people who don't watch anime or read manga know about them from foxkids, cartoon network etc when they were kids.

but yes he committed an awful act, send him to the brig!

 well, i guess the younger people don't have those luxuries. Cartoonnetwork has gone corrupt! i like adventure time, regular show and flap jack but other then that... CN is a catastrophy. they need to bring toonami back and get rid of the live-action shows O__e

 yeah agreed, kid shows now a days are awful, it's depressing, luckily we had the good times when they were awesome

 I was watching Cyborg 009 the other day. Oh, the nastolgia.

I swear, if I were to watch some Inuyasha or FLCL, I'd probably shed tears for the memories.

 is it that bad when you dont know older mangas or anime

becuase face it before GTO and the stuff you wrote, there had to be good mangas or animes you dont know

that's true, and i was partially hoping someone would drop the title of an older manga/anime that i had no idea about so i could look into it.

my own personal knowledge base of manga/anime is pretty vast though.

i've read stuff from the sixties/seventies, i don't particularly like those titles in question but i know it.

The ones above I remember watching when I was a kid. I actually recently downloaded season one and two of Sailor Moon and the first 30+ episodes of Rurouni Kenshin to rewatch in my spare time. Inuyasha is definitely on the list to look at again as well.

What about Flint the Time Detective?! Does no one remember Flint?!
