 Im looking for a deep magic type manga. Where the main character is a mage, and he trains and becomes more powerful.

I watched the anime: Brave story, which Mitsuru is a powerful mage... he was quiet interesting to me.

 Try Mx0, the setting is at a high school. Because it's on a magical spot the students learn magic...they can only use the magic they learn in those types of spots though.

There is also other magic types like FairyTail and Rave.

 for fairy tail the only problem is they already know it, there isnt much learning. I watched most of it too.
