Sadly I only play Xbox and DS games.
But here's the games I recommend for those systems: First DS games, which can be played on a computer with an emulator. Then Xbox, which some games can be found for PlayStation.

Pokemon

The newest versions just came out today [Oct 7th]! Even if you don't like this game or the newer ones I recommend SoulSilver or HeartGold. It's exactly like the original Silver and Gold, just fancier looking. If you have an SP you can even play the even older versions of these.

Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja

This is an RPG dungeon style game. The dungeons are literally random and therefore there are no guides for the game. There is NO WAY of cheating. You play as Izuna who's selfish and greedy. In the first game her greediness caused the Gods to get angry. Because of this she had to go through separate dungeons and fight each God.
In the second game there is a new threat which allows you to play as Izuna who can now tag team with the Gods from the first game.

Legend of Zelda

I believe there are 3 Zelda games available for DS's. All of which I'm sure are just as fun. You play as Link who always seems to be saving Princess Zelda from SOMETHING. I have Spirit Tracks and The Hourglass. Zelda is an old favorite of anyone into games. Even if you never played it before you'll be able to recognize [Link] from anywhere.

Halo

The newest of Halo [4] is coming out in November! If you've never played then you might want to start with Halo Reach, Halo 3, or Halo 3: ODST. It's a one person shooter [?] game. You play as the famous Master Chief who works with an A.I. named Cortana. The two need to survive against alien races and more importantly, the flood.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I believe this series started at IV [4], which throws me off. But it's another interesting game. You pick a race and play a story. It reminds me of RPG games commonly found on the PC. The newest one has gotten many good reviews, so it's something to look into.

Batman

Two of these games have been released. I REALLY WANT IT. The two connect with each other. Somehow Batman got captured and in the second you play as Robin to rescue him.

Sadly, I mostly play MMO's. If you do want to play MMO's though should check out the thread on it which is this http://mangable.com/forums/games-and-roleplay/944-anyone-play-any-mmos.html

As for other games, I would recommend Battlefield 3 (I have it on PS3 but I would perfer the PC version) if you like big games. Just beware that the patches and expansion packs huge and will probably take sometime to download. Also, the expansion packs will take some more money away from you unless you buy the premium edition.

Rise of Nations, computer, was a pretty fun game for me. It's pretty much a real time strategy game where you you have to build a nation and army and defeat the other nations.

Final Fantasy games are fun. Pretty sure everyone has heard of them/ played one of them in one point of their life. I've only played part of Final Fantasy XIII when I was borrowing it from friend (My parents don't like it when I game, they say it gives me stress and makes me fail school even though I wasn't even close to failing) Can't really say much about any of the other games since I never played them but they're fun and have a great story line.

Nier is probably the one game that I will always remember forever. This game is fantastic in my opinion. The graphics are decent but that doesn't matter if you're a gamer. The story line is great!!! (Although it would have been probably better if I didn't skip the cut scenes) The fighting system could have been a little bit better but it was still decent. And then we have the music which is just amazing!!! All of the different track that are in the game fit in perfectly with the location and the situation. Definitely a game you should try out. Although the gap between medium and hard is completely insane, the game really is a challenge on hard.

Ace Combat is a series of games that are about dog fighting, fighting done in jet planes. I've only played Ace Combat 5 but that game alone has made me love the series. The fighting system is great and music is again amazing. The story line is amazing, too. Something that I will also never forget.

Even though I think it would be better if I talk about it's squeal, Dark Souls, I haven't played it/ seen it yet so I can't say much about it except that it is just as fun as Demon's Souls, just as hard, and the boss fights are just as epic. Demon's Souls is one game that takes hard to a whole new level. Everything about this game is hard but fun. You will have to make your character from scratch by leveling up his/her stats to fit how you want to play as well as get items and upgrade them to fit with your playing style. You can of course find hints online which I highly recommend. This game was meant to play online so you find hints from other players as well as get help from them. You can also invade someone's world and kill them if you have the right item but that's complicated to explain. You can play it offline but you won't get the full experience the game can deliver. Also, the boss fights are just amazing, it's like nothing you have ever seen before. This is one game that will just amaze you with it's difficulty but for some reason is fun to play. Although you could always get Dark Souls instead.

Darksiders is a fun game, but you should not play this if you don't like puzzles. The game looks like it based on fighting only but in reality it's based on fighting and puzzles. Some of the puzzles are aggravating but that's what makes the game fun since it makes you think. The boss fights are decent (haven't played it in a while) and some of them make you think. Story line is decent, nothing major. There is also Darksiders 2 but I haven't played that one to know anything about it. Anyways Darksiders is a really fun game that really does make you think while you play.

I think that's all I got. I'll post more if I can think of any.

If you like puzzle games, you can't pass up on Portal

Systems:
Xbox 360
Playstation 3
Mac OS X
Microsoft Windows

"The game primarily comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using "the handheld portal device", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes. The player-character, Chell, is challenged by an artificial intelligence named GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) to complete each puzzle in the Aperture Science Enrichment Center using the portal gun with the promise of receiving cake when all the puzzles are completed. The game's unique physics allows momentum to be retained through portals, requiring creative use of portals to maneuver through the test chambers. This gameplay element is based on a similar concept from the game Narbacular Drop; many of the team members from the DigiPen Institute of Technology who worked on Narbacular Drop were hired by Valve for the creation of Portal.
Portal was acclaimed as one of the most original games of 2007, despite being considered short in length. The game received praise for its unique gameplay and darkly humorous story. It received acclaim for the character of GLaDOS, voiced by Ellen McLain in the English-language version, and the end credits song "Still Alive" written by Jonathan Coulton for the game. Not counting sales through Steam, over four million copies of the game have been sold since its release. The game's popularity has led to official merchandise from Valve including plush Companion Cubes, as well as fan recreations of the cake and portal gun. A sequel, Portal 2, was released in 2011, adding several new gameplay mechanics and a cooperative multiplayer mode." (Source)

Both Portal and Portal 2 are fantastic games. They're fun, challenging, and have some of the funniest and wittiest dialogue I've ever seen.
